Pattex Classic High-strength Contact Glue fast curing 125g tube

Pattex Classic contact adhesive for strong, fast bonds with high temperature resistance and easy spreading.

Applications

• Bonding of solid and plywood, wood-based materials with HPL (e.g. Resopal®), Formica®
• Rubber, leather, cork, felt, rigid PVC, metal
• Flexible foams, sound-absorbing, insulating and acoustic panels (except Styropor®)
• Veneer strips on edges and curves
• Bonding of sealing strips
• Not suitable for: PE, PP, soft PVC (e.g. artificial leather), PTFE (Teflon®), Styropor® (EPS)

Surface preparation

• Substrates dry (wood moisture 8–12%), free of grease and dust
• Clean HPL sheets, metals, etc. with common solvents (e.g. white spirit)
• Roughen metals for higher bond strength; acclimatize materials per manufacturer’s advice
• Bond only to untreated carriers (natural substrates); sand painted surfaces beforehand

Processing

• Adhesive application: apply to both parts (especially edges) with a fine notched trowel, evenly; do not dilute
• Open time / airing: 10–15 min at 18–25 °C until solvent has flashed off and a closed, visible film is present (finger-dry, no stringing)
• Joining & pressure: align carefully, then press briefly but very strongly (≥ 0.5 N/mm²); pressure height is decisive
• Roll or press hydraulically for large areas; press edges thoroughly; cross-application recommended
• Further processing: high initial strength allows immediate machining after pressing

Cleaning

• Immediately after work clean with alcohol or solvent; rub dry
• Fresh stains: wipe with white spirit; dried stains: white spirit or commercial paint remover (check compatibility first)

Storage

• Store tightly closed at normal room temperature; avoid <+5 °C and >+50 °C
• Cold/frozen adhesive: slowly acclimatize to ~+20 °C and stir thoroughly
